Things to Do
Elba has lots to offer.
Whether ou want to explore its beaches and rocky shores, or you want to try hiking, or sightseeing around the small towns and villages, or try the local food, there is always something to do. Here are a few suggestions.

01
Napoleon's Villa
Napoleon was exiled to Elba in 1814, and he resided there for a few months. His residence, called Villa San Martino, is a place you can visit.
We are organizing a guided tour of this landmark on the 25th (see the Events page).
02
Capoliveri
A small town on a hill in the southeastern part of the island. It is very charming in the late afternoon or evening, when shops are still open and you can enjoy some local food, a drink, or maybe some crepes in the main square.

03
Spiaggia delle Ghiaie
This is a white pebble beach with crystal clear waters smack in the middle of Portoferraio; if you feel like visiting one of the nicest local beaches and don't want to drive around too much, this is the place for you.
04
Volterraio Castle
Volterraio is the most ancient fortification on the island; it stands at around 400 meters and is not far from the wedding venue. If you feel like a hike, we definitely recommend visiting. Guided tours are available, just make sure you book in advance!

05
Medici Fortress
In Portoferraio you can visit the ruins of a Medici Fortress, comprised of two forts, Stella and Falcone, and an octagonal tower called Linguella. All these buildings are close to each other and easy to reach.
06
Tenuta La Chiusa
If you feel like wine tasting, not too far from the venue there is a winery called La Chiusa. They offer white, rose, and red varietals, and are fairly known in the region.

07
Learn Diving
Have you ever dived before? The water in September is rather warm, might be right time to get that baptism of water! Near the venue there is a dive shop called Unica Diving that is just what you need. Most hotels in the area know them and can get you in touch with them.
08
Go to the Beach
Elba has lots of beautiful beaches, and in September there will be way less tourists even in the most frequented ones. Click the link to see a quick rundown of the many options you have.
